TUGSBoardGame

The TUGS board game is a board game released in 1990 by Octogo Games and is based on the Tugs TV show's universe, set in Bigg City Port.

Characters

Trivia

  • Not all the Star and Zero tugs appear on the board game; the characters that didn't appear in the game are Big Mac, O.J., Hercules, and Zak.
  • S.S. Vienna is the only ocean liner not to appear in the board game.
  • In the promo photos there is a dice shaker made to look like a Star Tug smoke stack and a die with the Star Tug and Z-Stack logos on it.
  • The promo photos featured on the box use a slightly different version of the board game, it is not made up of puzzle pieces and has no text.
  • It was accidentally released in the United States, the only difference for the US version is that the board is folded out instead of put together. This is unknown why it was released in the US, but it may have been due to a miscommunication between the distributor and the licensors.
    • This is also the only Piece of TUGS merchandise to ever be released in the US.

Goofs

  • The board game says that Johnny Cuba is from Cuba when he speaks with an Australian accent in the TV series. This mistake must have led from his surname, Cuba.
  • The Duchess' nationality is British, but in a rare picture from Sunshine, she has an American flag on her front mast.
  • It says on the board game that Zebedee is owned by Captain Star, but as Zebedee is a Z-Stack, he should be owned by Captain Zero.
    • This is probably due to the ending of High Winds, where Ten Cents offered him a place within the Star Fleet.
  • Ten Cents is structured as 10 Cents.
  • Captain Star's name is mispelled as Starr.
