Buzz Books are children's books based on the series. They are original stories not based on any of the episodes. They were all written by Fiona Hardwick. The Buzz Books also covered other popular children's series such as Thomas the Tank Engine, Fireman Sam, Joshua Jones, Rupert Bear and The Animals of Farthing Wood.

- According to the Bigg City Port Tripod website, there was a fifth TUGS Buzz Book called 'Sunk', but the book was never published nor mentioned on the back of the Buzz Books.
