Paul 'Spike' Knight was a model maker for TUGS. He made several characters' faces based off of his and Chris Tulloch's designs and built numerous characters.
He worked on the models of Grampus, Hercules and Zug. He drew the designs of Diesel Tug and the unmade character: Smoker and sculpted the faces for Sunshine and Fire Tug.
He also worked for the show's sister series, Thomas & Friends.

- Knight is also making his own replica of Grampus in after production of TUGS ended.
